That Woman: Beating the odds in Colonial New York by Wayne Clark is a novel with a great plot and amazing characters. The story starts with a brother (Jacob) and sister (Sarah) who are kidnapped and sold into slavery, forced onto a ship and then have to work to pay for their voyage. They both suffer but retain dignity and hope, especially Sarah, the main character. She is brave, smart and fearless. I loved the character! The writing style in this novel is incredible. Would recommend to anyone!
