An enticing and moving account of one middle-aged man’s mid-life crisis

This book starts in a very unusual manner; a man lays in a hospital bed having lost all his senses except for the urge to masturbate. Someone, whether friend or nurse brings him pornographic magazines to stimulate him, as for some reason this is the only pleasure he has left.

We then go back in time and meet Kit. We learn about his unsatisfactory life. A job he once aspired to, now bores him; a long- term relationship seems to be waning; there is a failed marriage further in his past.

Now in his fifties, Kit believes that he has never had a truly satisfying sexual encounter because he has not fulfilled his very particular fantasy, which is to be beaten (whilst wearing specific white cotton tights) by a beautiful dominatrix. He decides to embark on a new life within his sexual fantasy.

Most of the book is about his relationship with his dominatrix, the Egyptian Princess, and how he falls deeply in love with her. The book was very well written and I cared so much about the main character that I found his journey throughout the book very moving. I hope this book gets the audience it deserves; it is so much more than just another B.D.S.M. book.
